Thank you so much to The Honourable Ambassador Jane Hartley of the Embassy of the United States of America, for inviting me to a reception at Winfield House.

Back in 2020, alarmed by the rise in domestic abuse, I wrote a piece about the rise in violence against women for the Centre for Policy Studies.

I was delighted to be appointed to the Government's Smart Data Council, and to attend its inaugural meeting at The Department for Business and Trade.

Smart Data involves the secure sharing of customer data with authorised third parties to help improve services for consumers.

In September 2022, I was appointed by the Cabinet Office to be a Social Mobility Commissioner. In this role, I get to advocate for policies that will help people from across the UK to achieve their full potential.

My dad contracted meningitis when I was a teenager and was in a coma for 9 days. Luckily, the NHS were able to save his life.

I've enjoyed Iain on LBC for years, and admired him as a broadcaster for ages, so I was chuffed when I met him at an event in January and he invited me to appear on his show, Cross Question.

I absolutely loved my time at the University of Cambridge, so it was a real pleasure to be asked back to my old college to deliver public speaking coaching to undergrad and postgrad students, research fellows, and staff.

It was wonderful to be able to hold this event with amazing speakers Paul Scully Minister for Tech and Sherry Coutu serial entrepreneur & investor in successful companies such as LinkedIn & LoveFilm. The session was expertly moderated by our brilliant Co-chair The Rt. Hon.

Thanks to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for hosting a fantastic International Women’s Day celebration at No. 10.

What a pleasure to spend time with incredible women from around the UK and to hear more about what they’re all doing to make the world a better place.

It was really great to spend the day with my fellow Social Mobility Commissioners to develop the Commission's strategy over the coming year and the initial State of the Nation findings for 2023.
