"With more than 750,000 coronavirus cases worldwide, and tens of thousands of deaths, it has become increasingly apparent that the virus not only discriminates by age and underlying health conditions, but also by sex – with men more likely to test positive, and more likely to die from the disease...Remedying the failure to account for the differences in gender responses to coronavirus could support the development of a vaccine and improve methods of treatment – saving lives now and in the future."
I wrote a piece for the Centre for Policy Studies on the need for more detailed data, and health policy that accounts for the difference between men and women.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
