As part of our month long celebrations of #internationalwomensday2022 at Wise, I had the privilege of speaking to 3 amazing women about their experiences serving on boards.
Why was this panel important?
BoardEx data reveals that only around 3% of female board-level roles are held by women of Black, Asian or minority ethnic heritage in the UK’s 350 largest listed companies. Recent research also highlights that for the first time in six years, there are no Chairs, CEOs or CFO who are Black in the FTSE100.
This means if we want stronger companies and stronger boards, we need to tackle this lack if gender and ethnic diversity at all levels - particularly in the board-room and at C-suite level.
Thank you to the incredible Dr Miranda K. B. Shirin Shah and Lucy Hutchinson for sharing their inspiring experiences, insights and advice with us all.
I’ve had the privilege of serving on boards myself - so always happy to talk if you’re interested in joining one!
