As someone passionate about using the political system, and policy, to shape our communities, country, and world for the better, I am always looking for opportunities to develop my knowledge and understanding of the world we live in - so I was thrilled to be chosen to participate in a 6 month fellowship focusing on foreign affairs.
Supported by the Gates Foundation, The Coalition for Global Prosperity has launched a Future Leaders programme that aims to build a network of cross-party future leaders who feel empowered to speak with authority on foreign policy and hear from senior political figures.
It will look particularly at the UK's investment in development, geopolitical priorities and international institutions and its activities will include a series of events, networking opportunities, a residential retreat and the opportunity to write for an essay collection and provide policy recommendations.
It was brilliant to meet the other fellows at the launch event, and to hear from Shadow Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East and North Africa Bambos Charalambous MP.
